"Celebrating Achievement - Olympics and Graduation come together at Bowes Pre-School"

At Bowes Preschool, we feel it is important to  recognise and reward all of the hard work the children have put into their learning and development over their years at Pre-School.  Leaving Pre-School, to graduate into primary school is a significant step in the childrens development. At Bowes Pre-School, we try to make this step a seamless transition, by fully preparing the children in their learning, and by gradually integrating the children into the school through joint activities.

To celebrate the children's achievements, we held a small graduation ceremony, in our outside theatre. We had a visit from our local Barnard Castle Police Officer - Martin Dauber, with his Olympic torch. This gave the children a superb opportunity to have their picture taken holding the torch.

Parents, supporters of the Pre-School, Bowes Hutchinson teachers and headmistress were all present to show their support - and even the sunshine came out for the occasion !

The gowns were hand-crafted for the occasion by Tracy Luck, and each of the children were presented with their certificates. It was an emotional day for everyone, as all the staff and children have bonded so well. Luckily the majority of children we will still see in the playground, as they will be starting Bowes Hutchinson C of E school in September.

We also took the opportunity to recognise the efforts of the staff at Pre-School and congratulated Claire Atkinson and Nicky Alderson in achieving their Level 3 in Children & Young peoples workforce.

Bowes Pre-School would like to take this opportunity to wish all of their children every success in their new schools, and thank the supporters of the Pre-School over the last year.
